I want to share a quote that can help lower your heart rate and improve your life.
“Be patient and let joy lead your training, not your mind. Who says you have to be fast or strong to be happy? If you think like that, you are always unhappy. Stay in the moment. Take one step after the other and look at what will come out of that. You are living now, not tomorrow or in the next second. This brings a feeling of ease, joy, and freedom.” – Walter Liniger on Extramilest Show #44
Recently I shared this quote with the coaches in our PB program.
This conversation with Walter Liniger is one of the episodes I’ve re-listened to several times.
Whenever your mind feels busy, chaotic or out of control… Slow things down, be here now, take a deep breath in and out through your nose, followed by another.
Take a few minutes to sit in silence, meditate, journal, reflect. Practice gratitude and be patient with yourself and others.
Swing a flow rope and walk backwards. It’s eye opening how calming these things can be for your nervous system.
When your nervous system calms down, your heart rate and lactate levels drop, and your running AND life will become easier.
Enjoy the process.
Cheers,
