This video made my week!

By September 19, 2025No Comments

I recently came across this video on YouTube that honestly made my entire week…

Brandon, a personal trainer, made an 8-minute video sharing his experience with low heart rate training.

What struck me wasn’t just his transformation – though going from thinking 2 miles was “so much” to easily running 5-7 miles daily is pretty incredible!

It was his mindset shift that got me…

He talks about how low heart rate training taught him that “pursuing your physical potential is an emotional journey.”

That slow, boring Zone 2 running?

It created space for reflection and clarity he now craves.

Brandon realized that, as a beginner, he had no idea how much consistent work advanced runners actually put in. Low heart rate training didn’t just build his mileage… It built his belief in the process.

His biggest takeaway?

“You have to believe that your actions and efforts will create change, even without guaranteed outcomes.”

This is exactly what we talk about in our community all the time.

Brandon went from being out of breath and frustrated to experiencing what he calls “self-mastery.” He found joy in the process, even when progress felt slow.

You see Jean, transformation happens when you combine the right plan with consistent execution and a positive attitude. Brandon’s story is proof of that.

So if you’re feeling stuck in your running right now, remember Brandon’s journey. Those slow miles, those sometimes frustrating weeks where progress feels invisible… They’re all necessary parts of your plan.

P.S. Brandon, if you’re reading this, thank you for sharing your story so openly. Seeing how the program helped you find that “self-mastery” reminds me why we do this work. Keep crushing those miles!

P.P.S. Next week, Thursday 9/25 to Monday 9/29, I’ll be hanging out in Mammoth for the Mammoth 200 mile race, as Path Projects is one of the race sponsors. We’re looking for volunteers to get involved before, during and after the race to make this first-ever ultra one for the ages. You can find all the information here.
